Have you met or had to confront an adult copycat? COPIED EVERYTHING YOU DID?

There is this adult male that I know. And he copies every girl that he is around. I am not talking about flattering and just fibbing. I am talking about fake interests so much that he will spend hours trying to pretend he is IDENTICAL to that party or person. Why do they do this and if you confront them on it do you think that they would share the real them? I confronted this guy and he got angry because I said listen I know that you can't like everything a person likes, needless to say he was upset and we havent been talking. I wanted to know the real him.
